Meet Barbie in real life..

It's 2 weeks after my 'Barbie has grown up problems..' post, and finally we've seen the Barbie Fashion show from NY fashion week. Nitrolicious had the opportunity to attend the show and was kind enough to share these photos with us not so lucky ones. My lovers, you should all visit here to see the finale video and more photos of the outfits as well as some guests. The photos are pretty damn amazing. The set was like the Barbie version of Disney land, and it makes you really want to be there.. that is of course if you are a Barbie girl.

The outfits were nostalgic and I couldn't help but think of all the outfits I used to dressed my Barbie in. I'll say it again and again, she is truely one of the most influential fashion icons ever existed. In this runway show, there were 50's, 60's and futuristic inspirations incorporated into the designs. The 50's one were best demonstrated with the accessories such as the up slanting glasses, the head scarves, the poodle skirts and the hair. The 60's inspiration was best seen in the mini dresses, the bright colors, the puffy beehive hair and the lovely eye makeup. And my favorite outfits, the futuristic ones....I have no words. Well, maybe a few words. I loved the transparent plastic shoulder pads that you had to look twice to really take notice of. I can't wait for my hair to be long enough to have that long sleeked ponytail and massive new style scrunchies. The structure and angles of the dresses were pretty fantastic too.
