Trex, djs, and pretty women..

I can't remember how I stumbled upon his flickr, but his page has been bookmarked for a while and I thought now would be a good time to share (with the camera fiasco and all). I don't know if this is all news, and this is just me getting all excited about something you've all heard of before. But I found photos taken by Merkley??? who doesn't define himself as a photographer, but takes amazing photos.

His work reminds me of Dave Chapelle, who's one of my favorite photographers. His photos seem like they're taken out of a dream scenario. The colors are saturated, the sets are unusual and the models are all beautiful. And bear in mind, that the people in his photos are not professional models, but people that he knows in person. I find the titles of his photos bemusing. They are quite long, but make you understand the photos better. For example, the photo of the redhead in the big box is named "Robin - Quasi Fetal Positioned Red Head Freckled Jazz Singer With Barely Visible Green Square Arm Tattoo and Elbow Bruise In A Musty Old Suitcase On A Semi-Fancy Old Rug Of Unknown Origin".



That's bananas. I die.
