You! Bow for the Queen.

I've had the DIY idea of drawing on a top for a while. Fi has done a fabulous job with it ages ago on some tops and sneakers. I used to paint and sell my painted garments, but for some reason I'm just finding myself being lazy in the creative area. Anyway, after Henry Holland's work as well as lots of other designer's drawings and portraits on tees, the label Libertine has come with a beautiful collection that Incorporated this skill as well.

Johnson Hartig and Cindy Greene's label Libertine was inspired by horror movies and Russian mystics for inspiration for their A/W 09-10 show. The portraits included Rasputin, Queen Elizabeth II, a guy dressed in a bear suit, the queen's guards, and mysterious party goers. The collection was made up of beautiful overcoats (that you probably wouldn't want to ruin in the rain),vintage trench coats, blazers, knit dresses, pencil and poodle skirts and overcoats.

There was a very preppy feel to the collection, best portrayed in the library book printed outfit. The colors remind me of school uniform with the dark hues of maroon, navy, rich green, contrasted with gold and cream. But maybe it was the plaid that wrapped up the school deal for me, or was it the embroidered badges? What I was attracted to immediately about this collection is the wool rosettes that were aligned along the overcoats. The other thing I liked was that pink silk coat worn by the male model. I like the idea of unisex, because I would wear that coat without a blink. Even though I'm not usually the biggest fan of bubblegum pink on guys, I quite like it in this case.

yeah, i know. that's what i was thinking. but the thing is, i don't know a thing about photography. i only know how to pick out beautiful photos. i don't know a thing about photoshop or anything that professional photographers use. its kind of sad, really. and i don't think i could write enough to fill the whole book. i'm taking a photo class over the summer, though...it should be fun.
