Soundsuits you say?

I know a lot of people have blogged about this ages ago already, but I've only read about it recently.

Behold Nick Cave's soundsuits..

The materials he used are so unconventional and interesting, and one would argue whether his work would be considered to fall under fashion or sculptured art. Whatever it is, I love the twigs, sequins, flowers, plastic bags and everything else thrown into his soundsuits. It's genius. His work was displayed in multiple museums in New York.. oh, if only I lived there so I can see them with my bare eyes.

I do, Melissa..

Oh Melissa Melissa... why do you have to tempt me after our traumatic event?

I'm exaggerating a bit. It wasn't very traumatic.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I love my Melissa shoes. I have 2 pairs of flats. One is the see through yellow ones, that still surprisingly smell of bubblegum even though I've worn them a gazillion times. And the other pair are the turquoise triple strap flats by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. When I first bought the yellow ones, I thought they were the comfiest pair of ballet flats I owned..which is true to some extent. But I put them to the real test when I was in London in June, and my 2 friends came to visit. I've never walked so much in my life. But I came home with 3 blisters on each foot, and now my feet look like an 80 year olds'.

Ahhh..the things we do for shoes. Melissa, don't get me wrong, I was only venting and I still love you.

Anyway, despite that, I'm still going gaga over Melissa's new range for A/W 09. I could imagine the flocked shoes feeling like the sandy lion stickers we used to get when we were 6 and innocent. The colours vary from tan, black, grey to pink, purple, and teal.

I love the concealed wedge. But what I love even more are the flats with the bow pasta (I believe it's called farfalle..?).

And the brogues....oh the brogues.... I don't think I could have enough brogues. I'm going to have to restrain myself next time I "accidentally" bump into them on asos.

Oh thy orange touch..

I've been on a shopping strike since I've been home. Well, not really strike, but more of a restraint. Anyway.. When I was in the States, I went a bit bananas in BCBG and got myself probably a quarter of their BCBG Maxazria Runway collection, including a pair of shoes of course.

I wore the heels for the first time today. And here is why I love them..

I love the fact that they are suede, even though they're meant to be summery. I also love the hint of fluoro patent orange. And Even though I'm not usually a fan of wooden heels, the sculptural design of these babies made them irresistible to me. AND, they are surprisingly very comfy too! OK.. I think I've went on and on a bit too much about these shoesies..

You get the point, I love them.

Here's a looksie from when I wore them for lunch today..

'Makes me feel like a madman on the run..'

Every time I read this brand's name, 'Zero' by Yeah Yeah Yeahs starts playing in my head. And now it won't stop.

I found out about Rabbit On the Run when I was flipping through some magazine a couple of weeks back. There's something very laid back and relaxed about their tees. Maybe it's the simple cuts, maybe it's the over-sized garments, maybe it's the neutral colours.. whatever it is, I feel like lounging around in their tees. I found out from their website that 'the motifs are a result of various experiments and research around cutting and folding, which led to unplanned symmetry'. I like how their experimentation lead to aztek and alice in wonderland-esque designs. Besides the tees, the jersey necklaces are a win for me as well.

The LJ impostor..

Through some twisted way, I found out that there is someone on Facebook stealing my photos from the blog, pretending to be me, and adding random people as her friends. I'd like to invite all our lovely blogger friends to report her on facebook by viewing her profile here.

To Shaikha Khaled Al-O, whatever your name is.. Get your own effing identity, and don't mess with me.

And we're back..

Fi & I have been back from New York ages ago, but we've just been lazy. Please forgive us. Here is a quick recap and a few tidbits and facts of the exciting and maybe not so exciting things that happened over the past couple of weeks..

-We met some of our blogger friends! EEP. It's funny how blogger and twitter bring people together in this crazy blogging world. We had the chance to meet the gorgeous, charming and hilarious Wendy Brandes from Wendy Brandes Jewelry and the beautiful soft spoken Deanne from Dream Sequins on two separate occasions when we were in NYC. It almost felt like a blind date before meeting them.. I had butterflies in my tummy. We were lucky enough to have the chance to meet them, especially Wendy who was leaving on her European adventure the next day! Thanks girlies for being part of our NY adventure.

-On the topic of meeting bloggers, we met Frankie from Swell Vintage when we were in London. it was like meeting an old friend, even though it was our first time meeting her! She's one of the most fun people to meet, and we both fell in love with her English accent.

-FACT: Virgin Atlantic is fabulous.

-I've done approximately 30 kilos worth of shopping, so there's lots and lots to blog about! And there won't be any shopping for me anytime soon. I think I have a problem.

-FACT: I would love to live in New York.

-FACT: Fiona is still living in her secluded country house, where there is pretty much no form of communication whatsoever. And all odds are playing against her when it comes to blogging...still. We miss you Fiona.

-Listen to Phosphorescent. And you might think, what the hell does this have to do with SOS!'s NYC trip? It fits the theme.. just click.

-Apart from meeting friends and new people, we also did some touristy things like visiting the MoMa, riding the carousel and going on the rowing boats in Central Park, and going up the top of Rockefeller Centre.

And there you have it. Now, we're back.. and you'll see more of us. You might even get sick of us. We've missed you.

My name is Madam, titiMadam.

Over the past week or so, and with friends visiting, I've been roaming around some markets in London. I went to Portabello road, Covent Garden, Brick Lane on Sunday, etc etc. I came across titiMadam's stall in both Portabello and one of the many markets in Bricklane. I love saying titiMadam. I kind of smirk every time I say it..I'm such a child.

Being more of an accessories freak of recent, I was drawn to titiMadam's acrylic laser cut and mirrored jewellery. I also loved the animal designs, and as they said on their website "So people who own titiMadam products have a special relationship with our designs, maybe it is a childhood memory of a dog bite or a cooking trauma from your adulthood.".. I don't what my relationship is with my mirrored deer ring, or wooden mirrored deer brooche, but I think we're bonding.
