I like 'em long.

I have a few maxi dresses at home hidden away but I have been so inspired by all the long skirt outfit posts I've come across lately.
Check out my new blog crush, Tweet.
This picture puts my one to shame. Someone get me a fancy camera please?
Amy from Wolfwhistle also inspires me with her long skirts and dresses.
LJ does it pretty damn well too.

On LJ: dress from ASOS, jacket from Camden lock, scarf from a market in Kuwait, belt from H&M, boots from Public Beware, bag from Miu Miu

Where did this trend originate from? Why do I want to wear long skirts in the summer?! It isn't like they are practical with gladiator sandals. The hem gets wrecked from all the straps. I'm in a state of confusion as to whether or not I want to hitch up my skirt and wear my denim cutoffs instead. I'm wondering is the blast of long floor skimming dresses to do with being frugal? Wear a long skirt in the winter means you can wear two pairs of long-johns underneath? But this doesn't translate to summer. Maxi dresses have been on the back-burner for a while. Now, bangcrash. ASOS has very lust-worthy long BLOCK COLOUR jersey numbers. As does H&M. As does Topshop. I saw so much of it at LFW. It does leave me in a state of confusion. It isn't a summer print. It isn't a warm winter dress. It isn't a gown.
However...
I jumped on the bandwagon though. (I hate being left out).

Long skirt: thrifted, top: dress from H&M worn as top, sonia platforms (yawn, yet again but ICANTGETENOUGHOFTHEM) and random heart print stockings

So how do you feel about this trend sweeping style blogs over?
Peace, Fi xx

I always swoon at pretty maxi dresses but at 5 foot zero I'm a little too teeny for them. I'd get lost and suffocate amidst all the material. But big thumbs up to those who can wear them. They look great! Love your long skirt with stripey top look! :) Lx

I love this trend but as you know, I am the same as loladee above, far too short to ever wear maxis and would render me looking like a small child borrowing her mom's clothes. Hmmm, may not work in my situation (my mom is even shorter than me!! and she refers to me as the tall one hahaha) but you get the idea!

By the way, you are looking hot in that maxi dress!
