Brooklyn flea..

I went on a trip with my friends yesterday to Brooklyn flea market. I've been looking forward to it for so long as I've read great reviews. So here are some photos!

There were plenty plenty of clothes, left right and centre! Vintage, handmade, old, new, etc. Unfortunately, I did not buy anything as I've just spent a lot of money on rent. Boo hoo for LJ. Though I did try on that lego colored sequined jacket, very MIA/JCDC. Damn you money saving plan.

Osborn shoes were definitely one of my favorite vendors. I've looked at their website a months ago , but the shoes are much more beautiful in the flesh. I need to get myself a pair at some point.

There were so many good furniture and home accessories finds. I was planning to buy something special for my new place. But then I realized that a trip to IKEA should occur first before I fill my teeny little space with accessories. My favorite pieces by far were the two sad looking kids portraits in the last photo. I hope they're still there the next time I visit.

Then there was the miscellaneous category.. Junk, toys, photos, and things you never thought you'd come across.. like a toy gorilla head. Interesting. Or neon doggie figurines..interesting.

Photobucket
And there were so many dogs! I love them so much. I said hello to pretty much every one of them.

In the first photo is one of my friends, hard at work at Asia Dog! It's probably one of the best hot dogs I've ever tasted. I suggest you try The Mash. SO GOOD. Also if you are ever here, I suggest you try the Maine Lobster Sandwich at The Red Hook Lobster Pound. It's 15 bucks for a little sandwich, but it is well worth it. I'd eat it for breakfast.

Photobucket
Say hello to Mr Softie, who lives in the ice cream van. He's my favorite NY character.

And this is what I wore.. Top from La vie en rose at Sunday Upmarket in London, floral trousers from Zara, plastic shoes from F-Troupe, sunglasses from Beyond Retro in London, bag from Miu Miu

What's your favorite market? Have you been to Brooklyn flea before?

Ooh I so need to visit the flea if I'm ever in the city again. I am loving that tacky gold heart shaped chair and agree about those kid's portraits, I really like them too!

Loving your outfit and glad to see you're settling in well in NYC!

Ahhh I miss this place, found so many bargains there, namely my $5 leather bag. I love the randomness of it all and the snacks you can buy. How long are you in NY for? I can give you loadsa suggestions!

I was actually in NY a couple of weeks ago and planning to go to the Brooklyn flea, but our hotel concierge said it was on a Saturday so we didn't try. Now wish I had - looks really good! The best flea markets I've been to are actually both in Washington D.C. (Capitol Hill and Georgetown) - Americans do them so much better than the English.

Love your top by the way.

This looks amazing! And that sequin jacket - wowsers!! Love the girl and boy portraits, although they're a bit freaky, they're exactly what I'd want on my wall! x

This looks soo much fun. I recently went to a flea market in Barcelona, which was pretty cool (no clothes but lots of trinkets - we bought some old cameras for a few euros). Corinne x
